Industry vs. Environment

In our class we have been assigned to do a project showing the relation of Industry and Environment through photos and sound. Now I don't want to talk much about what I did for this project but I'd like to envelope a little bit on my concept. I am really looking at a unique side of this battle. I do believe that yes, the inevitable cause of human life on this earth, industry, does have a negative affect on the environment. But today we live in a very unique time that finds the perfect balance. My concept for this project was to believe that we are not destroying our environment, we are creating a new one. Look around Toronto even; the countless parks, high park, queens park, the Humber river, not to mention it's situated next to a great lake. We live in a very odd time where we see these two forces intertwine, we sit in balance waiting for ourselves to be able to control nature, and completely shape the environment to our will. Until then we live in a world undefined by it's principals against nature, but it's virtue towards growth.

Too Much Work

Look at the way we live our lives; our society replaced the problem of dealing with biological necessities by giving us a plethora of other problems. Instead of having to worry about three meals a day and a roof over your head nowadays you have to worry about taxes, school work, the economy, war; the list goes on. Some would say isn't it better to worry about these "small little details" then having to worry about starving? You know what I say? We'll never know because we're too proud. Humans are too proud of our accomplishments to even look at our faults. We will never know how peaceful our lives would be if we lived thousands of years ago. I imagine it would be peaceful at times but rough, which is all you can really ask for right? I mean come on, I'd deal with having to fight jaguars away from children rather than having to worry about gossip at school, or how my future's gonna work out, or when i'm gonna be married or etc. I'd have to worry about living, and I know that's the only thing that is worthwhile to worry about. That's why people these days just need to look at the bigger picture of everything. In the end we're all humans trying to survive, so why complicate things?

Burtynsky

The other day we watched the movie; Urban Landscapes by Edward Burtynsky. This movie really showed us Edward's "larger than life" photography. It also really taught us the importance of audio working with imagery to give us that overall mood. You can look at the same image twice with two completely different feelings and ideas just by switching the background noise you hear. An exciting loud boisterous sound can be put next to a depressing, sad picture and brighten it up a lot, or vise versa. This really gives the artist maximum control over the impact they have on the viewer. We can give multiple feelings to a viewer through multiple senses. Taking control of all sensory intake would be the ample situation every artist should look for; and combining pictures with sound is a great start. You should never look at art listening to your own music, first always ask the artist what he thinks would work; because what you're hearing affects the way you intake what you are viewing. And proper intake is important.

PHOTO EXERCISE

Here is our first exploration in photography; now we are beginning to play around with aperture size and shutter speed, giving us maximum control of how an image comes out. First what I was starting to discover is how easy it is to over expose and image. Here we see a sunny day landscape shot by our school. The top image was over exposed on f/5.6 and 1/250 shutter speed, so by making the aperture hole smaller and shutter speed faster, less light was taken in and a successful picture was produced.

The next thing we began to play around with was the shutter speed and catching a moving subject. Having a quick shutter speed is essential for catching a crisp still moment of something moving, but a blur effect is achieved by using a longer shutter speed, as visible in the over exposed top picture. The bottom picture was shot on f/16 with 1/3600 of a seconds if exposure. This quick shutter speed really captured that crisp exact movement of the jump, and really goes to show how many different looks you can get by playing with camera settings.

Finally the last thing we decided to experiment with was the focus change the aperture gives you. We tried first capturing the foreground and background in a crisp clean matter. Seen on the top picture you can point out that the dandelions in the front are in focus but the fence behind them is not blurred or out of focus, where as in the below picture there are only a few dandelions in focus, and anything more than two feet from the camera was out of focus and blurred. This really emphasizes the flowers in the front and makes them stand out very well. Just by making a few adjustments on your camera a plethora of image qualities can emerge.

Dawson, Jaylen, Kevan

Here i present our latest project from cyber arts. We were assigned to design a chair that would be both functional, and artistic. This chair would also need to exude our personality. So here I presented the solution to that problem called the "Wall Chaise". This chair saves space in tight spaces by conveniently flipping up and tucking itself together; also leaving a convenient space for something on the bottom. I really believe this chair emphasizes my personality as well. Making things easier while staying sleek and organized is something i like to pride myself on. As much I do bug people, I like to believe that I'm really good at helping them as well; just like my chair does by saving space. My chair is also very straight forward, and quick to the point which is something I know I am. I don't like to play around, or "beat around the bush", I'd prefer to just get it out bluntly.
Looking at my chair at a closer perspective really brings out the artistic side to it. It's clean sleek diagonal lines bring your eyes all the way down, like a diagonal composition of a painting. These smooth lines are complimented by the blank and non-cluttered surface of the chair, only interrupted by a cushion of flat white. It's extremely simple, and strives to bring that simple, easy feeling into the home.

PUNISHMENT

Here we my definition of human outcome, demonstrated in a romanticism artwork of mine. In this collage I have used paint, magazine paper and gel-medium to create an image of a spaceship attacking earth. First i coated the wood board in a purple to darker purple gradient, resembling the contrast of light to dark as most romanticism pieces do. I created this gradient through dry-brushing, painting the lighter colours over the darker ones. After this was finished I dry-brushed clouds in above the earth, to resemble the heavens. The next step was to create my spaceship and place my picture of earth that I found in a magazine. I needed to used various pieces of paper in different colours to create my spaceship. I think it works well as the focal point of my piece. It also really balances the composition well with all the "eye candy" in the bottom part of the piece. This was created with orange, yellow and red lines, creating that triangle composition down the piece. The only thing I would have done differently if I were to redo this is to flip the triangle composition, and make only lines coming from the spaceship touch earth.

I was trying to convey a big message with this piece. Romanticism is always based off of a message, or an opinion, and I did this to match romanticism. The clouds resembling heaven show that the spaceship is coming from what we think of as "heaven". I believe that the traditional outlook on god is incorrect, and that people were visited by aliens in the biblical era. "God" and "Aliens" are the same thing; and people do not realize this. In my piece I'm showing the aliens punishing humanity for their ignorance and corruptness. Just as a picture of Jesus or "God" coming down from the heavens to punish earth; but I'm showing gods and aliens as the same beings. The lines show the punishment on earth, and the dark purple being on the side with earth resembles humanity's darkness.

Overall I am proud of the piece. I believe it shows what I intended to convey, and still gives much room for self-interpretation. The photo shown has glare on the top portion, due to the lights in order to photograph it. I believe it made it look better actually and i would try to add that effect through paint or some such if I were to ever do this piece again.

Bideos

Video is an extremely beneficial type of media. It incorporates visual and audio stimulation to get it's message across. For music, video is used a lot to emphasize meaning. The meaning is already in the song, but the video really visualizes it's meaning. The music video, in concept, needs to symbolize what the song means, and reflect the feeling the music gives. A bad video gives redundant visual diarrhea, a lot of moving craziness that doesn't have a lot of meaning, or point. This is sometimes done because of lack of knowledge, or even on purpose. A bad video can have you grabbing at your eyes, saving yourself from an epileptic seizure. It's important to try and avoid too much crazy movement or flashing of colours. Having a good plan for a music video is essential. Just going at it with a camera isn't going to be very successful. You need to focus your idea, really make it show what the song means. This is how to make a good music video, and how not to make a bad one.

2 Paintings

Art class has been giving us challenging work lately. Our last assignment was exploring the difference between mediums and canvas size. When moving from a larger canvas size to a smaller one, much changes. Brushstrokes need to become more controlled, and precise. The composition needs to be more exact, you have less room to work with as well, making it difficult to really express yourself with the paint. With me i much prefer to be working on a larger canvas. It gives you more room to work; to breathe. It feels less isolated and trapped, and finding this out about ourselves was the purpose of the assignment. Here I have painted quite a simple clash of colours. I decided to go with a diagonal composition, really emphasizing the fluid change from green to red. With these colours being so different I really needed to be careful not to blend them, making a gross brown. With this being said, i had to let all layers dry before i painted any other colour on top of the green or vice versa. Eventually this becametedious, but i believe it turned out well. I really decided to focus on the direction of my brushstrokes. I tried to keep them broken, and spurratic, giving a very impressionistic feeling to my painting.

Cast Away, Wilson

This assignment gave me and many of my classmates technical issues. We were to take a movie trailer, re-cut it and change, mood, plot and even overall feeling of the movie. I first decided to make The Jungle Book into a horror movie. This was quite difficult; between all the technical errors i encountered and just plain lack of clips work became hard for this. I decided to re-plan my strategy for this assignment. I needed a concrete plot to follow, that really affected the beginning movie's mood, and feeling. Cast Away is a movie about a man trapped on an island, and his physical and psychological struggles as he attempts to survive. Going a bit crazy he be-friends a volleyball, which he names Wilson. My trailer looked closer into this companion, and I really tried to humanize Wilson. I attempted to give it a nostalgic feeling, like a love story almost. This proved quite challenging but after a lot of playing around with the movie's clips and even adding whole new audio it was achieved pretty well i think.

Dependency

Blogs are quite the amazing thing. Me, a student in a high school can post things here people anywhere in the world can see. This is ridiculous. This wasn't even conceived as possible one hundred years ago. But today millions of people blog everyday. Never mind ranting about blogging, just look at the internet! I can learn any language, watch any movie, read any book all in one chair. This innovation of technology is really taken for granted by today's youth though. This ridiculously huge outlet to information at our fingertips is amazing, and i think a lot of us would be lost without it. Which is kind of sad really; now we have a whole race of beings dependant on the things they created. Kind of sounds like a religion story no? Either way today's technology and the potential for more technology is mind boggling. Like right now you might be wondering why I added this picture to the blog post. I haven't mentioned it yet, it has relevance to my point though, can you see it? Humans today are growing up with machines. Machines and gadgets are a kid's new best friend, who needs a dog? Can you're dog play music, surf the web, stream movies, and calculate tips? I didn't think so. Humans today are simply born with it, it's a part of us. Thirty years ago almost none of what we had today existed, but yet it's as if it's always been here. We're growing up in a sick time. Where every human has become detached from humanity. An average person might look at the screen of their phone texting collectively a half-hour to an hour a day. Thats twelve straight days of texting a year. All of this time spent staring at the same individual 3x4' screen. People need to snap out of this dependency.

Sound Effects

With technology these days being so advanced, humans need for advanced entertainment is more than ever. With our senses being such a ticklish outlet for stimulation its not a mystery why humans are entertained through movies. Many things attract the viewer to a particular movie. People may like the story, or the actor or the previous film in the plot but what people forget is that they are 100% dependant on sound and video. If you went to see the last Harry Potter movie and it didn't have any sound you wouldn't care if they're at Hogwarts you can't hear them! Sound is such a necessary component of media that people take it for granted or don't even acknowledge it's effect. You might be scared by the murderer jumping out of the closet in a scene but its the sudden jolt of loud music and the door crashing open thats gonna get you to jump out of your seat. This video I posted here (click here) shows a professional Foley artist as he gives some insight into the art of making lifelike sounds out of everyday objects.This essential behind the scenes work needs to be greatly appreciated, because without it we'd get a lot less enjoyment out of the things we do for entertainment on this modern day planet.

Whad Up, Johnson

Okay so my name is Dawson B (AKA Bossmans). Cyber Arts is something that i don't involve a lot of my personal efforts in. I love the class, I enjoy the doing the work, it's a really nice change to the usual work we do in school. But still to an extent work is work and not everything is hop-to happy-go-lucky with me. If anything were to be my "favourite" in this class (favourite would intail that I actually enjoy doing it, which doesn't always happen in school, because education does not chase student desire, it chases teaching needs) it would be more along the lines of animation, always from the tech-portion of the class. If I were to explain "who" I am without relevance to school or education I would tell you that I am a stubborn, teen-ager who thinks I'm always right. I have my very own distinct beliefs about the world and stand by them like a religion, this is also portrayed in my attitude. If I don't agree with you I won't listen, If i think you are of lesser mind, your words are empty. These attitudes sometimes get me in trouble but I stand by them, because after all they make "me", and I stand by me.

Self Destructive


Today’s society is unarguably tainted by pollution and greed. Pollution is constantly poisoning the air and destroying not only our habitats but also every living thing that lives on earth. The main basis of my picture is: Who is to blame? The exact answer; we are.
Humans are responsible for the slow but constant destrucion of our earth and since we live on Earth we are harming ourselves. That is the exact point of my picture.
This picture has many different procedures and steps to make it give a “dream” the surreal look I was aiming for. First I had to take many pictures of myself in various actions. Only a few of these were selected for use. I guess humour was achieved in this picture but along with that my message I believe is still clear. After I gathered all the pictures and put them on my computer I began to take the selected images, cut and shrink them.
I had to choose a main picture for the larger version of me getting attacked. After I cut the background out of that “main” picture I began to paste the previously shrunk ones into it. These added pictures looked a little out of place so I blurred them in to make them more in the picture.
The little men were placed around my body and layered properly so it looked like they were hitting me. I had the main picture done which was me getting attacked by, me. This scene did not look surreal or like a dream, which was off my mark so I had to change something. First I began individually change the colour balance on each little me. I made them a variety of vibrant colours. Reds, oranges, greens and many other colours were used to make the men more imaginary. After I was finished editing the little men I jumped up to the larger version of me. For this I wanted to cut out separate body parts and individually change the contrast of them. I cut out the legs, torso and head all into separate sections. I made the contrast on the head the highest and thus went a little lower with it as it progressed down my body. Finally, my body and all the men around me looked very odd and irregular; perfect. The picture is not quite ready yet. The background was what I started to edit now. I first made it a gradient from black to white matching the intensity of my body’s contrast; black on the top and white on the bottom. After this I decided to almost blend my body into the background. I swirled my body at different points twisting it into the background. After that I decided on the name Self Destructive. The matched my point and meaning of the picture.
Looking at it now it really has a gloomy feeling and I believe it has a lot of personality. Looking at all the faces in the picture this all gives you very mixed emotions. The little men resemble, earthquakes, hurricanes and all other natural disasters. I chose this because earth is angry at the human race for harming it so much. This gives earth emotion as well. If you look at the main part; my face, the agonizing emotion mixed with the extreme contrast really gives it an intense look.
I learnt a lot about the Photoshop program through this assignment. Since it really had no limits I feel that was a very expandable assignment. It really taught me to picture what my final piece will look like as I do it.

Finished Self Portrait

Projects that force us to look deep inside ourselves really push me to hit home with whatever idea I’ve come up with. As soon as this project was assigned I knew exactly what art style I was going to use, and precisely the message I intended to convey with it. Many ideas with several different layers of meaning all make up this personal scene. I wanted to show many different aspects of my personality, and not just one. I decided I was going to convey the message that I never give up. If I am passionate and believe in something, quitting is never an option. Sticking to a plan the whole way to the end is something I take great pride in. The next part of me I tried to convey is my reliability. I am a very sympathetic person and not doing something someone has put trust in me for hurts me emotionally as much as them. These ideas jumbled into one picture were very hard to achieve.
A first look at my picture leaves the viewer very confused; it is only when deeply analyzed the real meanings reveal themselves. You can see me, but green, standing among barren hills in a night time landscape. In the background is a floating city skyline, and a too-close for comfort sun. Immediately you can tell many aspects of the picture are impossible, which can directly be related to surrealism. These surrealist values all really add up in the end to describe each of my personal traits. I am green because I am a zombie, and zombies are known in movies to never quit. Three missing limbs and zero teeth won’t stop them from persistently trying to reach their goal; your brains. This I felt was the perfect way to show how I never give up. Making myself a zombie wearing a suit also shows how I keep persistent to my goal while staying composed. Setbacks will not make me freak out or get angry, but push me harder towards finishing. The sun and city and supposed to tell the viewer that this scene is far in the future. I am still existent this far in the future because of my reliability. This shows that I have meaning to be where I am. This meaning stops me from letting down who ever it is still needs me to be here. All of the content in the picture has a deeper meaning, that isn’t seen on the outside. To fully understand me and who I am allows someone to fully understand what I was aiming for with this piece.

Surrealism has always been my favourite art style. The freedom to hold your art by no bounds, and follow zero rules allows you to do exactly what you imagine. I feel in many ways surrealism directly relates to my personality. I like to feel free to do as I please, no matter who thinks it’s un-proper or “wrong”. I do not like to be confined to a set of rules, but would rather make my own and do things the way Dawson would. I feel that this has been consistent throughout my whole life.
With many aspects in this picture one would question how to get them so perfect. So would I. The floating city could have more to it, such as detail or light, and same goes for the sky. I tired many times to add some sort of feel to the sky, but couldn’t accomplish this. Noise would make the sky too important in the picture and stars would add more un-wanted clutter around my head. This could have been achieved differently, but I stuck with a gradient to avoid too much trouble. I am very proud of the detailing done to make myself a zombie. The gory hole in my head and missing left hand really add feeling to my emotionless face. Without these added I am staring blankly at nothing, and my positioning almost feels out of place. I found this very successful. Overall I am really happy with this piece. The personal connection could be discussed for hours, and the sheer confusion of the content hits what I had been aiming for. Keep Chuggin’ will always hold that personal piece of me within it and looking onto this paper is the equivalent of looking into me.

Freedom, The Flash Experience

My kinetic typography assignment is call Freedom, for the exact reason that freedom is the main focus of the solo the clip is to. It was done on Flash MX and Adobe Illustrator for some of the more difficult animations.
I was extremely excited when first assigned this kinetic typography assignment. Off the bat I knew exactly what audio clip I was going to use, and the message I intednded to convey with it. I chose to go with a more dark, urban mood, to match the song’s feeling. K’naan’s song “In the Beginning” brings up the importance of children, and their freedom. The song portrays the issue of child brutality and even brings police brutality to attention. With such serious issues I needed to convey a lot of deep thoughts into my clip.
The first issue was selecting a text. I needed a bold text that could be easily visible, even when words are up for a short amount of time. Tertre Extra Bold fit this perfectly. It bluntly displays the lines and stands out on the stage. For the more emphasized lines in the clip I needed a more intense looking font. Punks’ not Dead matches the song’s darker urban mood and really adds feeling to each line. This in my opinion was the most successful technical solution. It sums up all the moods throughout the whole clip into one font.
A lot of the main focal points in the clip go along with what K’naan is saying at the time. A candle lights up the dark when he says light a candle, and a heart appears when he says hearts we fill. These decision I believe were successful in directly portraying the message of the song into the clip. The text and content would also alter with the mood of the solo. The beginning of the solo has a much more calm mood, and for this reason I chose blue as the background. It gives it a more suggestive feeling and leaves you open for the more blunt messages towards the ending. The last half of the clip I mainly used a black background, to make the font have maximum contrast, making the words really stand out. I feel I was successful in using the right colours to stick to the songs feeling.
I am very happy with my final product because it is exactly like I imagined it being. All my initial thoughts were constant throughout all work on the clip. If there was one thing I would change on reflection it would be the detail in the background. It would be nice to see more than a flat colour in the back, maybe some pictures of buildings and alleyways here and there. I believe I made up for it by having a lot of movement in the clip. Probably the most difficult technical challenge was having the words keep up with K’naan’s fast flowing lyrics. Because it is rap the amount of words was very difficult to work with. So many lines had to be coming from everywhere at all times, and this made it challenging to keep up with the transitions. All in all I feel I was successful in this assignment, and really portrayed my initial message I intended to. The work was worth it and it is satisfying to see the final results.

This assignment was handed to us around the beginning of last year. As one of our first assignments we were just learning how to use the programs and weren’t really as confident as we could have been. The assignment was to make a logo for an imaginary company ran by you. It was a graphic design company with it’s own beautiful custom made logo.

Before I decided what my logo was going to be I needed to decide what kind of mood I wanted to get across. I wanted to get a kind of an energetic mood but try to show that I mean business. I thought around a bit and I finally came up with, a gecko. Playful, energetic and still one of the smartest lizards on earth.


I started to animate the gecko a little more and had many versions with all different colour decisions. This gave me a wide variety of choices to choose from. I finally decided to go with the colour of wealth and intelligence. Purple. After I made the main colour of the gecko I had to eventually go on and choose the colour for the specs. I thought that the purple was intense enough so I decided to go with a cool easy white.

After I got the colour down I needed to start thinking up design names. Some names past through my mind but I think the one that was most present was Naff. The word does not have a real meaning but I think it fits the energetic mood I was trying to set.

My logo really does represent my company but nothing ever stands for only one thing. The energetic gecko could stand for many things. It is very symbolic that business can be fun. The gecko is an intelligent and noble animal but at the same time it is very fun and lively. Loosen your ties guys, Naff is in the house.

As I said earlier this was one of the first assignments in the class. Since it was our first time using this program (Adobe Illustrator) it set the foundation for all other assignments I would do from this program. Without this assignment I would not have learned all the other skills that I would have needed in the future. This assignment really taught me about the gecko too. We needed to research the animal we chose and this was very beneficial to my “Gecko Knowledge”.

Facebook vs. Twitter

Site design is an important part of any success on the internet. It's extremely easy to have an un-appealing site that does not follow the ten principles of web design. This can also be easily avoided. Let's use Facebook as an example. For anyone visiting the site for the first time it's evident as soon as the page opens what the purpose of the site is. Clearly stated, "Facebook helps you connect and share with people in your life." These are almost the first words you see, and leaves you confident that is what your going to get out of the site. This allows the user to not even have to think, which is the number one principle of web design. The sign up details are also found without navigating anywhere, aswell as login info. On one page without navigating anywhere you can login, sign up and quickly see the point of the site. This is very useful and effective.

To look at the opposite side of the spectrum let's look over at twitter's home page. The first thing that takes my eye's attention is the side scrolling text, that upon further reading has nothing to do with knowing what the site does but is just a bunch of names. It is a very poor decision making the least relevant piece of information on the page moving, because this is where the eye will travel first. I am still not even one hundred percent positive on twitter's purpose and I've been looking at their homepage for a while now. The sign in, or sign up info is found after navigating a little through the site and this can cause some users to loose patience and leave the site. This refers to the second principle of web design, don't waste your users patience. Seeing a cycling list of top tweets definitely drains my patience, and also confuses me; what the hell is a tweet. A better idea would be to leave these "top tweets" or who else is on twitter to bee shown later after you login, because this information is redundant to someone who has yet to sign up. All of these problems could have been solved before they even became an issue. Keeping conscious of the purpose of your site throughout your design process is crucial to success on the web. People like things to be convenient and easy, not tedious and difficult.

Ashcan Art also known as Ash Can art's creation was a revolutionary art movement. In the United States Ashcan art is more commonly recognized to be darker and depressing; paintings of a dark city alleyway rather than a bright sunny field. This form came as the first important art movement of the 20th century. Made up of young revolutionary artists the Ashcan School is a group of painters that rebelled against academic taught art with their own individual style that stood out from all other forms. The group sought to capture the feeling of life at the turn of the century. Crowded dirty cities showing dark alleyways or bars captured a darker feeling than alot of paintings during that era. Paint was applied thickly and rapidly leaving evidence of brushstrokes. This is how the art was rebelling against academic tendencies. The movement is most associated with The Eight, a group of painters five of which are associated with the Ashcan School. These painters sought to display the truth about life in a busy urban city.

I find this group of painters very interesting, and personally inspiring. They rebelled against "normal" art and sought to convey their own personal messages, in their art. They took the world of art and turned it upside-down, just because they felt like it. To know that it is possible, to try something new, and different and become successful inspires me in all my work to strive further. Strive further and find that particular personal aspect of me going into my work. These painters noticed something, and felt the need to stick out like a swore thumb and display their opinion. It's people like this , constantly pushing the envelope, that end up changing the world forever. This does not only inspire me to try harder at my work, but any task i take personally.

Self Portrait

THis year in my Cyber arts class, we were assigned to digitally create a self portrait of ourselves. After this digital portrait is completed we are then painting it onto canvas. I chose this project to share because i feel it will be one of my best works. When the planning first came we needed to choose an art style that we were going to attempt to mimic. Many ideas came to mind, mainly clinging to surrealist styles. The idea I settled on was me as a zombie; this inspiration comes from being raised on zombie movies. My plan has many layers of meaning, which took a while for me to work out in my head. I'm trying to convey that i am a reliable person, who is stern in their beliefs. As of now it is a work in progress, and I'm still trying to figure out many details in the background. This project proves to be lengthy and will take all of my creative-thinking power to achieve what i am aiming for. Here is what i have so far.

Sprockets 2010

Yesterday April 20, our cyber arts class was included in a special screening of short films, hosted by sprockets. These short films, some animated brought many topics to attention about our global world. Others were just cartoons with foxes running around. One film, done in French was about a man making a movie, and it follows him shooting one of his scenes in a hospital. The whole short film leaves you confused, with the actors making it seem actually real. This comes to your attention when the actress is acting sick even when they are not shooting. I though this was a very unique technique for a movie to use.

The next longer film we saw was a cartoon in French, taking place in forest and a castle. It followed the story of a depressed princess with her rat "parents" and her unicorn friend named "U". U helps her become happy and almost acts as her guardian angle, as Molly the princess describes it. Their land is disrupted by a travelling gang of musicians. Molly's "parents" do not approve of these visitors and want them off their land. The whole story focuses on in depth character development for every single character. You feel compassion for every character, and understand their problems from every angle. No other movie has made me understand each character so well. These short films were a great experience and I'm glad I was a part of it.
